Camera placement considerations
When planning for cameras at Penske locations, the following items should be considered. Please discuss this with the Chief Security Officer or the IT team.
- Consider a camera for each entry/exit gate.
- Consider a camera in retail (shop) area or reception area.
- Consult with HR prior to cameras being added to areas observing staff.
- Ensure alarm PIN panels are 'blacked out' in recordings (IT can set this up)
- Consider external lighting for outdoor cameras where possible, or high-powered infrared floodlights near cameras to extend night-time vision (IT can provide infrared options).
- Cameras on corners of the building, and high-value roller doors/doors such as parts warehouse should be considered.
Non-approved cameras
All cameras other than Cisco Meraki are considered unapproved and not suitable for network connectivity. Unapproved cameras include models from the following companies:
- Hikvision
- Dahua
- Swann
- ZTE
- Hytera
- Huawei
- Reolink
- Ring (Amazon)
- Eufy
