Camera placement considerations

When planning for cameras at Penske locations, the following items should be considered. Please discuss this with the Chief Security Officer or the IT team.
  1. Consider a camera for each entry/exit gate.
  2. Consider a camera in retail (shop) area or reception area.
  3. Consult with HR prior to cameras being added to areas observing staff.
  4. Ensure alarm PIN panels are 'blacked out' in recordings (IT can set this up)
  5. Consider external lighting for outdoor cameras where possible, or high-powered infrared floodlights near cameras to extend night-time vision (IT can provide infrared options).
  6. Cameras on corners of the building, and high-value roller doors/doors such as parts warehouse should be considered.

Non-approved cameras

All cameras other than Cisco Meraki are considered unapproved and not suitable for network connectivity. Unapproved cameras include models from the following companies:
  1. Hikvision
  2. Dahua
  3. Swann
  4. ZTE
  5. Hytera
  6. Huawei
  7. Reolink
  8. Ring (Amazon)
  9. Eufy
