Reporting Change of Circumstances

Reporting Change of Circumstances

The below process is changing, and this document will be updated soon. The new AGSVA process is to report changes of circumstances using the new myClearance system from the AGSVA website at https://www.agsva.gov.au and logging in using your own MyGovID (different to MyGov) logon.

If you have a Defence security clearance, you must report most changes of circumstances including items such as the below:

  • change of name or identity including gender
  • changes in significant relationships
  • changes of address or share-housing arrangements
  • entering into, or ceasing, a marriage, domestic partnership or significant personal relationship
  • changes in citizenship or nationality
  • changes in financial circumstances, like entering into a mortgage, incurring a significant debt, significant change to household income, receiving a lump sum payment or other financial windfall
  • changes in health or medical circumstances
  • changes in criminal history, police involvement and association with criminal activity
  • official interactions with law enforcement, such as speeding fines, red light fines, or other demerit point and fine situations
  • involvement or association with any group, society or organisation
  • involvement with any individual that may be a security concern
  • disciplinary procedures
  • illicit or illegal drug use or alcohol problems
  • residence in a foreign country
  • relatives residing in a foreign country
  • suspicious, unusual, persistent, regular or ongoing contact with foreign nationals
  • changes in religious beliefs
  • security incidents
  • external business interests, including business activities with overseas individuals and entities
To report changes, let the Security Officer know or complete the attached form and send to the address provided on the form.

Remember it is a requirement of a security clearance to report changes in circumstances.
